Romania vs Spain Preview

Romania will look to build on their solid start to this qualifying campaign when they take on this Spanish side that has historically found it tough to beat them.

The home side has lost just once in their last 12 home games and come here with a record of just one loss to Spain in 6 head-to-head games over the past 30 years.

Romania is unbeaten in their last 3 games, winning two of those matches.  They held Norway to a 2-2 draw last time out and they would hope that in-form Claudiu Keseru can lead them to a famous win in this game.

Spain has remained one of Europe’s best teams and come here in a good run of form.  La Roja comes into this game having won 5 of their last 5 games, but they will know that Romania is historically a tough nut to crack.

Spain will be looking to keep impressing for new manager, Robert Moreno, as they have beaten the likes of Sweden, Malta, Faroe Islands and Norway ahead of this game.

Moreno has some of Europe’s top players in every position and he would feel he has no excuse not to win this game.

Bookmakers have priced Spain up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game while Romania will start the game as heavy underdogs.
