Germany vs Netherlands

Competition – Euro 2020 Qualifying

Stadium – Volksparkstadion (Hamburg)

Date: 6th September 2019

Kick-off time – 19:45 GMT

Two of Europe’s biggest teams meet in Hamburg as they both look to snatch a victory that would boost their chances of making the EUROS next year.

The home side is under enormous pressure after exiting the last World Cup at the group stage and also getting relegated from the EURO Nations League.

The Germans have started this qualifying campaign well after collecting 3 wins from as many games.

Germany have the added morale boost after a 3-2 win over the visitors in the last matchup between these sides.

The Netherlands have played only two games in this series after they made the Euro Nations League finals.  The Dutch side has enjoyed some kind of a revival recently, but they still have problems on the road.

Despite earning rave reviews in the last year, you would have to go to March 2018 to see the last time that they won an away game.

Northern Ireland has made this game a must-win for both sides as they have collected the maximum 12 points available to them.

Losing this game on the part of either side would put them under enormous pressure to beat Northern Ireland or suffer the failure to reach the finals.

Bookmakers have priced Germany up as slight odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game however the odds are close and Netherlands are in with a real shot of causing an upset according to oddsmakers.

Goal markets point to a high-scoring game as over 2.5 goals is trading odds-on prior to kick-off while in-form Timo Werner is unsurprisingly clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.

This game gets underway at 19:45 BST.
