Aston Villa vs West Ham United Preview

Aston Villa vs West Ham United

Competition – Barclays Premier League

Stadium – Villa Park

Date: 16th September 2019

Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT

West Ham and Aston Villa meet here to serve us our dose of Monday Night Football for this Premier League week.

The Hammers would have been delighted by how their season shaped up just before the International Break as they won three consecutive games, having started the season with a 5-0 home drubbing at the hands of Manchester City.

Sebastien Haller who was signed after the Hammers lost Marko Arnautovic has been justifying his high price tag so far and their fans will be hoping that he can continue his solid form in this game.

Aston Villa has found life back in the Premier League a little tougher than the Championship, but their 1-0 win against Everton should boost their morale a little as they need all the confidence and composure they can get to survive this season.

The Villans hardly draw games and come here having drawn just one of their last 20 games.  They have a team of rookies including their manager and they may need more time to get used to the Premier League.

West Ham has a team of accomplished Premier League stars and a manager who has won the Premier League before so they  have the edge in this game on paper.

Bookmakers have priced West Ham up as extremely tight favourites to come out on top in this game however the odds are extremely close and Aston Villa are priced up competitively.

Goal markets point to a lively game as over 2.5 goals is trading odds-on prior to kick-off while Sebastien Haller is favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
