Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Tottenham will be the next team that attempts to beat Liverpool at home and Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be looking to end the Red’s unbeaten run that stretches to the end of last year.

Liverpool fell just short of recording an 18th consecutive win in the Premier League when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Liverpool visited their old rivals having won their last 17 Premier League games and expectations were high, but the Red Devils had a plan that many teams may begin to use now.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær set up his team to defend against the Reds and hit them on the counter which paid off as Liverpool also had an off day with no Mo Salah on their side.

The Reds got back to winning ways and had Mo Salah back as they beat Genk 4-1 in Belgium on Wednesday and Jurgen Klopp would be hoping that they can get another win here.

Tottenham also enjoyed a winning return to Europe as they thrashed Red Star Belgrade 5-0 at home.  That result was a needed breather as they endure a turbulent start to their season.

Their fans would hope that is the start of something great and getting a result in this game would signal that they are ready to finally kickstart their season however the head-to-head record in this fixture doesn’t favour them much.

The Lilywhites lost both games to Liverpool last season and they have won just one of their last 13 matches against the Reds.

Tottenham have been on the losing side on 5 of their last 8 visits to this ground.
