Liverpool vs Everton Competition – FA Cup Stadium – Anfield Date: 5th January 2020 Kick-off time – 16:00 GMT
Liverpool welcome back their city rivals Everton as they continue their FA Cup campaign in this new decade. The Reds have been in fine form for much of this season but their ultimate target remains winning the Premier League which they are most likely going to do. Everton has made a bold statement by making Carlo Ancelotti their latest manager. The Italian comes with lots of experience after winning titles in more than three countries. Jurgen Klopp has often struggled against Carlo Ancelotti’s side and the Italian did beat him this season with SS Napoli. Although Liverpool have prioritized winning the Premier League this season, the Reds are unbeaten in more than 15 Derbies with Everton and they would be keen to keep that record in tact, especially in front of their fans. Dominic Calvert-Lewin seems to be enjoying a new lease of life under Ancelotti and he should be given another chance to play here. Liverpool may field an understrength side, but the likes of Divock Origi, James Milner and Adam Lallana are expected to start and act as experienced heads for the youngsters that will be fielded.
