Nice vs Lyon Preview

Two in-form French sides meet in this French Cup game with both sides looking to reach the next round.

Nice earned a 1-1 draw in their last competitive game when they hosted Rennes.  That draw was the 6th consecutive game that they have not lost and they would be keen to keep that run going.

Patrick Vieira’s side has lost two and won five of their last ten games in all competitions and they face a Lyon side that has returned to form just at the perfect time.

Lyon beat struggling Toulouse 3-0 in their last league game to extend their unbeaten run to eight games.  They won seven of those games and are currently on a run of six consecutive wins.

Lyon has also been in fine goalscoring form recently as they have scored at least three goals in each of their last three games and in five of their last six games.

Nice has however, struggled for goals but they always manage to stop their opponents from scoring too many goals against them which is an ideal situation.

Both of these teams have won two of their last four head-to-heads with just one of those ending in a win for the away side.
