Day Three of the Cheltenham Festival continues on Thursday featuring the Ladbrokes World Hurdle and the Ryanair Chase. Day two saw Sprinter Sacre win the Sportingbet Queen Mother Champion Chase impressively, defeating Sizing Europe by 19 lengths at odds of 1/4.
Day three selections –
1:30 – Jewson Novices’ Chase
Gamingtips Tip – Dynaste 6/4 – Dynaste has looked impressive so far this season, defeating Hadrien’s Approach last time out who ran third in the RSA Chase on Wednesday. Excellent jumper, perfect trip, ground should suit.
2:05 – Pertemps Final
Gamingtips Tip – Bouggler 25/1 – A tough 24 runner race – Bouggler travels well, has ability but doesn’t always show it, switch back to hurdles will suit and the ground should be ideal, each-way selection.
2:40 – Ryanair Chase
Gamingtips Tip – First Lieutenant 5/2 – First Lieutenant has been well supported all week, ran exceptionally well last year in the RSA Chase and should be there or thereabouts.
3:20 – Ladbrokes World Hurdle
Gamingtips Tip – Peddlers Cross 8/1 – Peddlers Cross finished 1 1/4 lengths behind Hurricane Fly in the 2011 Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy, has had trouble since then and has only ran seven times since then – the withdrawal of Big Bucks from this race gives this horse a great chance if fit and ready to go.
4:00 – Byrne Group Plate
Gamingtips Tip – Ballynagour 7/2 – another very difficult race (24 runners) so siding with an unexposed type is not a bad idea, Ballynagour has won in France, won a race last month very comfortably, form has been franked since and odds of 7/2 seem reasonable.
4:40 – Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase
Gamingtips Tip – Deal Done 33/1 – another 24 runner race, Deal Done hasn’t raced since November, likes to be up with the pace and represents a good each-way bet.
5:15 – Glenfarclas Handicap Chase
Gamingtips Tip – Passato 50/1 is a horse that generally runs 2 miles and sometimes a massive upping in distance can change a horses attitude, coupled with the fact that it is a relatively lightly raced horse – odds of 50/1 seem reasonable for an each-way bet in a race where there is always a lot of horses falling and sometimes big priced horses upsetting the more favoured horses.
