BMW Championship Betting Preview, Odds and Tips

The 2013 BMW Championship begins this Thursday at the  Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois with the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup rankings competing for the $1.44 million winners prize and more crucially, FedExCup points.

Less than half the field will make it through to this years finale – the Tour Championship which begins next Thursday (19th September).

Rory Mcilroy is 22/1 to defend his title after a mixed season where he has had 5 top 10 finishes.

Henrik Stenson won the Deutsche Bank Championship last week and that win forced him to the top of the FedExCup.

Current pre-tournament betting odds are below (click to enlarge, subject to change/vary from bookmaker to bookmaker):

Odds

As always, Tiger Woods is clear favourite with bookmakers at 0dds of 6/1.

Masters Champion Adam Scott won The Barclays this summer and is currently 12/1 second favourite.

Open Championship winner Phil Mickelson is 12/1 joint second favourite.

US Open Champion Justin Rose is 18/1.

Jason Dufner won the PGA Championship and he is currently trading at odds of 25/1.

Henrik Stenson won the Deutsche Bank Championship last week and currently leads the FedExCup (14/1).

Gamingtips Tips:

Steve Stricker (20/1) is currently 8th in the FedExCup and with 3 second placed finishes this season, he is sure to be there or thereabouts come Sunday.

Lee Westwood has been inconsistent of late but because of that odds of 40/1 are available and he may be worth a punt from an each-way perspective.

Tee times will be updated when they come available.

  1. I’m only 18 who would u recommend putting tener each way on on the BMW championship

  2. Everyone and their mother know to put a tenner on Rory McIlroy. The lad is absolute brilliance even though he’s been in a shambolic state over the last couple of months.
