AS Monaco vs FC Porto Preview

AS Monaco will be looking to avenge their 2004 Champions League final loss to FC Porto in this game.

Since the last time these sides met, Jose Mourinho has gone on to win league titles in at least 3 different countries and AS Monaco has emerged from the shadows of PSG and Lyon to win the French Ligue 1 but this game promises to be very interesting at least from the outside.

AS Monaco won the French league last season and are currently behind heavy spenders PSG by a lone goal.

Their season has been powered by the goals of Radamel Falcao who seems to have rediscovered his goal scoring touch and he will look to lead them to Champions League glory this season.

They reached the final 4 of the Champions League last season but they have lost most of the players who helped them get that far however with their current form they can still make a good run at the UCL this season.

FC Porto have started their local season in the best possible manner but they lost their opening Champions League game at home to Besiktas 1-3 when everyone expected them to win.

They now face a tougher opponent and it will be interesting to see how they respond in this game.

They actually have a good record against the French champions although their last match up was in the 2004 Champions League final, which they won 3-0.
