Japan vs Poland
Competition – FIFA World Cup
Stadium – Volgograd Arena
Date: 28th June 2018
Kick-off time – 15:00 GMT
Poland were one of the teams expected to shine at this World Cup after they qualified without much struggle, but their return to the global stage has been a disaster and they head home after two losses in as many games no matter what the result here is.
Japan started their campaign with a shocking 2-1 win over Colombia after the South Americans were down to ten men inside just three minutes.
They went on to draw their next game against Senegal 2-2 after going behind twice.
They now have four points and need to avoid losing here to progress.
Poland alongside Colombia were expected to make it to the next round in this unpredictable group, but the Europeans were the first team to be eliminated in a surprised turn of events.
They lost their first game 2-1 against Senegal and they were well beaten 3-0 in their next match against Colombia.
Polands major issue seems to be their defence which has been unable to stop their opposition strikers from scoring so far and with Kamil Gilik still unfit to play, Japan should have an easier task on the offence.
