Manchester City vs Chelsea Preview

Manchester City are right back in the title race not necessarily by their own making but because Liverpool have failed to take advantage of the times that they have faltered.

The Cityzens recently dropped points yet again against Newcastle, yet they are top of the league table on goal difference having played a game more than Liverpool.

This is probably the first of two games that Manchester City are expected to struggle to win this season, the second of which is a visit to Manchester United.

Should they beat Chelsea here, their confidence would receive a major boost ahead of the title run-in with Liverpool.

Chelsea started the reign of Maurizio Sarri in fine form.

They were unbeaten in their first 12 league games and many began to consider them title challengers at that stage of the season.

However, their form has since tailed off and they are currently in a battle for the top four with Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal.

Liverpool fans are clearly banking on Chelsea to do them a favour and beat Manchester City in this game, but the Blues have lost all 3 of their last 3 away games in all competitions including a 4-0 thumping at the hands of Bournemouth in their last away game.

They beat Huddersfield Town 5-0 in their last game with Gonzalo Higuain finally opening his account with two goals.

He could be very important for them here as they face a Manchester City side that has conceded just once in their last 5 home games.

Bookmakers have priced Man City up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top.

Goal markets point to an exciting game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on.

Sergio Aguero is favourite to open the scoring with bookmakers.
