Lazio vs AC Milan Preview

After Juventus’ elimination from the Coppa Italia, Milan and Lazio will be looking to win this competition this season along with Atalanta and Fiorentina who are the remaining four teams.

Lazio has not had the best of times this season.  After they almost got into the Champions League last season, their fans were expecting them to do even better this season, but that hasn’t been the case.

They come here having lost their last three games in all competitions.

That run of form has seen them exit the Europa League and also remain 7 points off the top four – winning this competition would be a great feat for them.

Milan should feel this is their best chance to win a trophy after a long time and their current form makes that a possibility.

They are currently one point inside the top four and their fans would give up anything to return to the Champions League, however, they reached the final of this competition last season and only Juventus stopped them from winning.

With Juventus already eliminated, they would feel that they can finally land this competition.

Lazio are also fancied in this competition so it will be interesting to see who gets the first leg advantage.

Bookmakers have priced Lazio up as very slight favourites to come out on top in this first leg however the odds are extremely tight and a rush of money would see Milan go off as favourites.

Oddsmakers believe this will be a low-scoring game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Ciro Immobile is favourite with bookies to score the opening goal of the game.
