Real Madrid vs Barcelona Preview

Real Madrid vs Barcelona

Competition – Copa del Rey (Semifinals – 1:1 aggregate)

Stadium – Estadio Santiago Bernabéu

Date: 27th February 2019

Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT

Real Madrid and Barcelona face off in this game as they look to get the bragging rights in Copa del Rey this year.

Real Madrid have looked weakened without Cristiano Ronaldo this season and they may not retain their Champions League crown, but they would expect to at least challenge Barca for domestic trophies.

Los Merengues have won 4 of the last 5 Champions League crowns, while Barcelona have won the domestic double in four of the last five seasons, so whoever wins this game will have the bragging rights over the other.

Barcelona have opened a 9 points gap over their rivals in the league table and they come into this game in much better shape than in the first leg.

Real Madrid come into this game with the advantage of an away goal after the first leg as they didn’t have to worry about Lionel Messi yet they ended up with a 1:1 draw in that game.

The host come into this game after a hard fought win over Levante at the weekend which followed a similar win over Ajax in the Champions League last week.

Lionel Messi scored a hattrick at the weekend for Barcelona and he comes into this game in fine form hoping to destroy his biggest opponent.

Barcelona have won and scored 3 or more goals in each of their last 3 league visits to the Bernabeu.

Bookmakers have priced Barcelona up as very slight favourites to come out on top however the odds are close and Real Madrid will certainly have their supporters.

Goal markets point to an extremely lively second leg as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds on while Lionel Messi is favourite to score the opening goal of the game followed by Luis Suarez, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.

This game gets underway at 20:00 BST and the winner will play either Valencia or Real Betis in the final.
