AC Milan vs Inter Milan Preview

This Milan derby is probably the closest and most important in recent memory and these sides would be keen on making good use of it.

The home side here is the in-form team that have completed a run of solid results recently and come here one point above their city rivals Inter Milan.

AC Milan haven’t been flamboyant but they have been effective in their most recent games.

AC Milan have won their last 5 league games on the trot and come into this game unbeaten in their last 10 matches in all competitions.  They have been beaten just once in their last 14 matches so they have momentum on their side ahead of this game and it will be interesting to see how Inter responds to that.

Inter Milan come here in more inconsistent form after they were beaten 1-0 at home by Eintracht Frankfurt in their last competitive game.

Luciano Spalletti’s side hold the last place in the Italian top four but they are just three points above AS Roma so they cannot afford to lose this game.

Inter have won 6 of their last 13 games in all competitiions since the New Year and their fans have been demanding more.

The absence of Muaro Icardi has also forced them to continue looking for ways to get past opponents and this may be their biggest test since he was dropped from the team.

Bookies have priced AC Milan up as slight favourites to come out on top in this game while goal markets are expecting a low-scoring derby game as under 2.5 goals is trading odds-on at present.

Krzystof Piatek is clear favourite with oddsmakers to score the opening goal of the game.
