Germany vs Serbia

Competition – International Friendly

Stadium – Volkswagen Arena

Date: 20th March 2019

Kick-off time – 19:45 GMT

Germany are facing some kind of a transition at the international stage at the moment.  They went into the last World Cup as defending champions and favourites but left in the group stages after losing two games.

Since that disappointing competition, they have won just two of six games and finished bottom of their Euro Nations League table behind Netherlands and France.

Their recent dismal showings could be blamed by the recent axing of stars like Jerome Boateng, Matt Hummels, and Thomas Muller.

Joachim Low has been handed another chance to make things right and it is obvious that he is looking at the future now.

Serbia has one of the most promising squads in European football at the moment and they have decided to go for a mix of youth and experience in this game.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is expected to lead their attack and he shouldn’t lack good balls to feed on as the likes of in-form Dusan Tadic and Nemanja Matic will be behind him.

Serbia were also eliminated from the World Cup at the group stages but they have since remained unbeaten ahead of this game, winning 4 and picking up two draws in six games – they should cause Germany some problems here.

Bookmakers have priced Germany up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game while goal markets point to a lively game as over 2.5 goals is also trading odds-on.

Timo Werner is favourite with bookies to score the opening goal of the game closely followed by Marco Reus and Serge Gnabry.

This game gets underway at 19:45 BST.
