Juventus vs Ajax Amsterdam Competition – Champions League Stadium – Allianz Stadium Date: 16th April 2019 Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT
Ajax could be without Frenkie de Jong who ran the show when these teams met in the first leg of this game in Amsterdam. The midfielder limped off at the weekend and that could be a major problem for Ajax and a lift off for Juventus. When these sides met in the first leg, the Dutch side were fearless and took the game to Juventus who despite scoring first found themselves forced to remain in their own half for much of the game. Anyone who watched Ajax’s game against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu would know that this game is not over and the Dutch side will be out to get as many goals as they can in this game. Juventus’ preparations for this second leg was also disrupted by a shocking 2-1 loss to SPAL at the weekend. Having rested most of their players, the only positive from that game is that Moise Kean still found the back of the net as the youngster continues to develop well. This game remains open and we expect both teams to come out for the win which could force Juve to abandon their normal reserved approach and go for the win. Juve have won seven of their last ten competitive matches, but they have not won any of their last two. Ajax have been on a winning spree as they have won ten of their last 12 games in all competitions. Bookmakers have priced Juventus up as slight odds-on favouritesd to come out on top in this game while Ajax are still being respected by oddsmakers, they will start the game as underdogs. Goal markets suggest there will be goals as over 2.5 goals is currently trading a shade odds-on while Cristiano Ronaldo is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game followed by Moise Kean and Paulo Dybala.
