FC Porto vs Liverpool Preview

FC Porto vs Liverpool

Competition – UEFA Champions League

Stadium – Estadio do Dragao

Date: 17th April 2019

Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT

Liverpool made a major statement when they defeated Chelsea at the weekend to get back to the top of the Premier League table.

The Reds played well and undid all of the hardwork and preparations of the Blues with several styles of play and scored two very good goals.

They now turn their attention to the Champions League as they look to finish the job they started at Anfield last week.

They beat the Portuguese champions 2-0 in the first leg of this game but one thing that FC Porto cannot be accused of is lacking a fight.

As a matter of fact, the Portuguese side gave Liverpool more troubles than Chelsea did at the weekend and we expect this game to be another tough one for the Reds.

FC Porto fought hard at home to see off AS Roma in the last round and they now make another attempt at that in this game.

They were on course to win yet another league trophy this season but Benfica have been revived and they could pip them to the league title.

Nevertheless, Porto remain close and have the same points total as Benfica at the top of the league table.

Porto returned to winning ways at the weekend when they thrashed Portimonense 3-0 away from home.

They should take that win as a confidence booster and make life difficult for Liverpool in this game.

Bookmakers have priced Liverpool up as odds-against favourites to come out on top in this second leg and progress to the last 4 of the competition.

Porto will start the game as underdogs and their main issue will be if they concede a goal – in that event they will need to score 4 goals to progress which is an extremely tall feat.

Goal markets are expecting a tight game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Mohamed Salah is favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
