Napoli vs Arsenal Preview

Napoli vs Arsenal

Competition – Europa League

Stadium – Stadio San Paolo

Date: 18th April 2019

Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT

Arsenal face one of their most difficult away days as they head to Napoli to try and qualify for the Europa League semifinals.

They won the first leg of this game 2-0 at the Emirates but this return leg should be tougher as the San Paolo Stadium is one of the most difficult grounds to go and play.

Arsenal are still in the race for the top four alongside Manchester United and Chelsea who have played a game more.

The Gunners don’t have the best of away forms.  They were beaten 1-0 by Everton on their last travel.  That loss was their 3rd loss in their last four away games so they need to be ready to change that stat when they take to the field for this game.

Napoli are almost certain to play in the Champions League next season but they would want to end this season with a trophy and the Europa League could be it.

They were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal in the first leg of this game and they will be looking to overturn that here.

They followed that loss up with a 3-1 win over Cheivo at the weekend with Koulibaly scoring 2 goals.

Napoli seem to perform when they play at home, winning two and drawing one of their last three home games in all competitions.

They also scored three goals at home the last time that they played a home game in this competition so they should be confident of pulling off an aggregate win here.

Bookmakers have priced Napoli up as slight odds-on favourites to come out on top in this second leg which makes for an interesting 90 minutes.

An away goal for Arsenal means Napoli must score at least 4 to progress so it will be interesting to see how Napoli approaches this game.

Goal markets point to a high-scoring game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Arkadiusz Milik is favourite to score the first goal of the game.
