Arsenal vs Valencia

Competition – Europa League

Stadium – Emirates Stadium

Date: 2nd May 2019

Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT

Arsenal will be looking to reach the Europa League final when they take on one of the competition’s favourites in this game.

The Gunners have been in fine form in this competition and their win over Napoli in the last round showed just how good they have become as the competition progresses.

They have been inconsistent for much of the season but their home form has been something to behold.  Although they lost their last competitive home game to Crystal Palace, fans expect them to bounce back with a win in this game, but Valencia are one of the hardest teams to beat at the moment.

The Gunners are suffering a poor run of form at the worst moment of the season as they bid to finish inside the top four.

They were beaten 3-0 by Leicester at the weekend and that was their 3rd loss in as many games.  Each of those games has also ended in them conceding 3 goals and that is not the best stats when coming to play this Valencia side.

Valencia were surprisingly beaten 0-1 by Eibar at the weekend which was their second consecutive loss.  Prior to that, they had been in a fine run of form that had seen them win 4 consecutive games.

They may both be struggling in their domestic leagues, however, both of these sides have shown so much promise in this competition and this game should be an entertaining one.

Bookmakers have priced Arsenal up as slight odds-on favourites to come out on top in this first leg.

Goal markets are expecting a tight game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
