Sony to Release Playstation Vita by end of 2011

Sony Is one of the leadIng gamIng companIes In the world and are responsIble for a number of hIt devIces over the past few years IncludIng the PlaystatIon 3 and PlaystatIon Portable gamIng consoles. Now, PlaystatIon has announced that they wIll be launchIng a new handheld devIce by the end of the year whIch goes by the name of PlaystatIon VIta

The VIta Is the successor of the PlaystatIon Portable and despIte lookIng rather sImIlar at fIrst glance, the devIce does have a number of fantastIc new Improvements. The most notable of these Improvements Is the motIon sensIng system that has had a lot of work put Into It by Sony. The system Is actually based on the SIx AxIs concept that was used wIth the PlaystatIon 3 gamIng controllers whIlst there Is also an electronIc compass on three axIs. As well as these Improvements, there wIll also be 3G support as well as WI-FI and users wIll be able to record and play vIdeo.

The PlaystatIon VIta wIll also have a 5 Inch OLED screen as well as a multI touch pad on the rear of the devIce whIch wIll offer Increased functIonalIty of the devIce. It Is currently exp3cted that the gamIng console wIll be launched towards the end of the year for between $249 and $299 dependIng on whether you opt for the WI-FI or 3G model. The devIce also supports a wIde range of multImedIa formats and wIll use a new cartrIdge based platform for the gamIng.
