Turkey vs Iceland Preview

Turkey will be looking to win this game and secure qualification into Euro 2020 as group leaders ahead of France.  The Turks have had a really good campaign this time and just avoiding a defeat in this game would book a place for them in the finals and their home fans should help them achieve that here.

Turkey have already collected six wins from their eight qualifying games this term.  They have a solid home record and now they need to maintain their winning home record to secure a spot in the competitions main stage.

Iceland have been the focus of the last Euros and World Cup as they defied the odds to qualify for both competitions.

The Icelandics have failed to maintain the momentum they gained from their last two qualifying campaigns after losing 3 of their 8 qualifying games so far.  Their loss to Albania could prove disastrous if they drop points in this game and they should know how difficult it is to get a point off Turkey at home.

Iceland has been the only team to beat Turkey in this group and Turkey may be out for revenge while playing in front of a raucous home crowd.
