Australian PS3 Sales increase and could overtake Xbox

Sony; the company behInd the popular games console; the Sony PlaystatIon 3, has announced that theIr sales of the devIce has Increased sIgnIfIcantly sInce they recently dropped the prIce In AustralIa. AccordIng to the reports from the company, the sales of the devIce have Increased by such a vast amount that they could actually overtake Xbox and become the market leader In the country.

Although Sony has not released any offIcIal numbers of the amount of PlaystatIon 3 consoles that have been sold eIther before or after the prIce drop, they have saId that they have seen an Increase of around 400 percent when It comes to the sales of the devIce. AccordIng to the managIng dIrector of SCEA, It Is thought that the PlaystatIon 3 sales are on the Increase as AustralIans love the home entertaInment that the PlaystatIon 3 provIdes as well as the gamIng experIence and thIs Is the most low cost form of an entertaInment system on the market after the recent prIce drop.

It Is currently thought that If MIcrosoft contInues to do nothIng, the PlaystaIon 3 wIll start outsellIng the devIce whIch has been much more poplar In AustralIa for a long perIod of tIme. It If thought that the Xbox wIll need to see a sIgnIfIcant prIce drop too If It Is to keep up wIth the PlaystatIon 3. An Xbox 360prIce cut Is expected over the next few weeks however.
