Royal Ascot Gold Cup 2013 Betting Preview, Runners, Tips & Latest Odds

It’s Wednesday at Royal Ascot and the 2013 Gold Cup is already upon us. The Queen owns the current favourite for the race, Estimate who is trained by Sir Michael Stoute and is currently trading between 5 and 6/1. The winning connections will receive £198,485 if their horse wins but with 18 going to post and no more than 10 pounds separating all 18 horses, any horse is in with a chance of collecting. The race is set to go off at 3:45 and will be run over 2 miles and 4 furlongs.

The official racecard is below (Click to enlarge).

The latest betting odds taken from are below  (Click to enlarge).

Gamingtips Tip: With very little separating these horses on paper (10 pounds separate all 18 horses according to their official ratings) we’re going to side with older horses over younger horses.  ALTANO, aged 7 is a very smart German entry and could potentially be anything while TIMES UP, also a 7 year old has proven form over the ground and track and should run well at an each-way price.

RITE OF PASSAGE won this race last year and still looks well treated at an each-way price while the Queens entry, ESTIMATE is sure to prove popular with punters with jockey Ryan Moore on board.

This race should be viewed far more as a spectacle than a serious betting proposition; there are and will be much better bets throughout the week in less competitive races.
