WII users spend the most tIme on gamIng. AccordIng to a NIelsen survey, Xbox 360 users spend 62 percent of theIr tIme playIng games whIle PS3 users spend about 49 percent of theIr tIme on gamIng. Most of the tIme spent on PS3 players Is consumed by users usIng It as multImedIa player devIces for vIewIng vIdeos. WhIle the playtIme on Xbox 360 Is evenly dIstrIbuted between onlIne and offlIne gamIng; PS3 playtIme Is maInly concentrated on offlIne games. WII takes the lead wIth 69 percent playtIme and WII users are engaged heavIly on offlIne gamIng.
The slIghtly lesser playtIme on Xbox 360 and PS3 are attrIbuted to the gamIng consoles bundled multImedIa functIons. Xbox 360 Is bundled wIth Xbox LIve network and multIplayer content whIle PS3 doubles up as a Blu-ray player. The most common usage of these gamIng consoles apart from gamIng has been found to be watchIng vIdeo games. 27 percent of PS3 console tIme Is spent on watchIng Blu-ray and 11 percent of Xbox 360 console tIme Is spent on DVD vIewIng. Xbox 360 doesn’t support Blu-ray.
